✨Welcome to Reading Under the Northern Lights ✨
Hello! I’m Kerri, a mom of two, outdoor enthusiast, and lifelong book lover. This blog is my little corner of the bookish world where I wander through stories of every kind.
The name Under the Northern Lights comes from one of my favorite memories: standing outside with my husband at our campground, watching ribbons of green and pink light dance across the sky. Even now, seeing the northern lights feels like pure magic. Some of my best reading moments happen in those same woods, curled up under a blanket, with a warm drink in hand.
Reading has always been part of who I am. There were seasons of life when books took a back seat, but in 2022, I fell back in love with reading in a big way. Starting this blog feels like a new chapter that I am thrilled (and a little nervous) to share with you.
For a long time, I talked myself out of starting a reading blog. Self-doubt, lack of time, and a mild case of tech anxiety were my go-to excuses. I’ve decided to leap in and learn as I go. So here we are, ready to read, write, and connect!
What You’ll Find Here
My reading taste is all over the map and I love it that way. You will find everything from:
- Psychological and atmospheric horror that lingers long after the last page.
- Fantasy that’s immersive and character-driven.
- Thrillers that keep me up way too late (and my antidote for reading slumps).
- And lately, dipping a toe into light sci-fi.
Some of the best stories I’ve discovered are the ones I stumbled upon by accident. Here on the blog, you can expect to read about:
- Books That Made Me a Reader:
- Monthly TBRs (to-be-read lists)
- Reading Wrap Ups and Honest Reviews
- Book Recommendations and Themed Reading Lists
…and maybe a few surprises along the way.
Let’s Connect
I’m so excited to begin this journey and even more excited to share it with fellow readers. I’d love to hear from you. What type of content would you like to see here? And please, share your own “hidden gem” book recommendations in the comments!
Let’s explore new stories together, under the northern lights.
